The right side of my upper lip is cracking. I should reach back under my vest, remove the lip balm that is stashed in one of the jersey pockets and apply it. This would be the right move to prevent further pain in the face region. The balm will probably be in the far right pocket. If I could just think back to this morning when I was loading my pockets. But I can’t. Reach back, that is, just as I can’t recall where I put the damn balm. The wind is so severe it’s having that effect on me. It blows you to the side when you take a hand off the bars and right back into the saddle the rest of the time. It’s funny how one moment the wind can whip its way along the base of a canyon and propel you to speeds you never thought possible. And then, moments later, it wipes clean any notion of assistance by completely stymying any sort of forward motion. Which is what it is doing right now… Read more.

Have I ever posted a music video before? I think not. So in a bid to get more people following me on twitter to read my pointless ramblings I thought now was as good a time as any to break the mould.
Brilliant. 100% gunning for Team leopard. Bring on the Tour!
Still loving a tub.
A cinematic tribute to the Tour by Oscar winning director Claude Lelouch.
This wonderful film of the 1965 Tour brings the hunt for the Yellow Jersey alive. Made three years after Louis Malle’s vintage “Vive Le Tour”, Lelouch’s film was made with the big screen in mind and is more cinematic in its scale than Malle’s. Without the restriction of narration, Lelouch lets the beautiful images of the Tour tell the story, which he sets against a brilliant and quite absorbing soundtrack.
There is no speech, no commentary and the quality could be better, however the three parts to this movie ‘For a Yellow jersey’ are an absolute must see.
A great bit of Cannibal footage. Now then, a question… Does anyone know where I can get/watch Eddy Merckx ‘in the vicinity of a cup of coffee’ from 73? I have only read of it and would love to peep it… so if you know, please get in touch!
Bit sparse on the posts of late friends, sorry about that. I have been pulling what’s left of my hair out at my day job… But I can now report that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
In the meantime, while I get myself back together, get your chops around this fantastic footage.
Absolute repost but still an amazing clip.
Thought I’d post it as the Spinwell projects No.3 has now come to end with the last bunch of musettes off to the post office yesterday.
This clip, as reminded by Gareth Davies puts into perspective the use and beauty of the small, simple cotton bag.
Thanks again to everyone who bought a musette and hold tight for Project No.4.
Super funny. 1m 30s had me in bits for real.
Rapha’s Japanese friend and agent, Daisuke Yano, was in London Town over the weekend for business and some impromptu ice riding. He also dropped this video, a snippet from the forthcoming Rapha Yonretto ride program, which will be an unprecedented documentation of Japanese riding – with a similar manifesto to that of the Rapha Continental.
Awesome. Best short I have seen in a while… the use of focus and colour is nigh on perfect.
I only managed to watch about 40 seconds of this until I could view no more and no I did not cease because of a server time-out or a youtube re-buffering. No… It was down to the sensation of something food like ( I think it was my breakfast ) travelling back up my trachea into my mouth that halted the full watching of this vid!
Nike 6.0 sponsored BMX rider Nigel Sylvester is shown in this video ripping up the streets all day with some urban freestyle riding. Working with Hypebeast blogger and photographer 13thWitness, this video was made ‘for the love of the Game’ which I’m sure you’ll agree is the best and most authentic way to do it.
