I actually really like this, dredged up from Tracko’s archives. Fixed gear, brake, hoods, clipless pedals and loads of lightweight bling, this bike is clearly intended for comfortable, quick travelling. Love it.
I can’t enter on a geared bike, that would be cheating and I would probably cruise the win so it’s the trackie tonight, however I have not ridden my fixed bike properly for so long, thus I am quivering. Actually a bit scared of macking those speeds again.
So, If you see no posts next week it’s because I am in hospital.
Ricky from Feather cycles is killing it. I thought his initial offerings were good but these are serious, Feather’s gone from strength to strength!
Just peep his latest offerings, I think you’ll agree that he’s doing an utterly fantastic job and that green Rando is straight off the hook ( street slang for really good ).
I certainly know where I’ll be going for my custom roady! You do me nice price?
Rollapaluza roller racing takes place Thursday 17th between the hours of 12pm and 6pm in our great big neon toilet, the Bulls ring, sorry I meant Bullring… Hmmm, I certainly have my reservations about it being held in a huge 3 story shopping complex but hey, I’ll be working anyway.
For those not working, or studying get yourself along and have a race. It’s free, you could win prizes and there will be some “surprise stars” there.
God, I’v got jitters with the excitement. Sunny Birmingham hasn’t had something like this in a good while, so it’s about time. Props to Fin for hooking this up and by the looks of it boy’s been busy collating the prizes too!
So, Birmingham people! Get yourself there and if everyone agrees not to mention the wea**r we should be in for one slamming evening.
Yeah, it’s lovely isn’t it? 90s inspired neon hotness! But continuing on with today’s sun induced self indulgence here is a selection of my personal favourite Neon jerseys and for the record, the following jersey that I like to call the ‘Gavatron’ ( because of how it makes me feel when wearing ) is the jersey I like to wear most.
The Gavatron. The best.
Disgusting. Cheap Ebay purchase that is thankfully, too small.
Ace. Another Ebay purchase to go with my Raleigh stash but this one, to my disappointment, was also too small.
AURORA collective teamed up with MONOW, a one-man design studio based in Stuttgart/Germany. Together we designed 3 unique Bike Jerseys / Riding Jackets.
The Jerseys are made of high quality materials by Champion System. They will move and breath with you, so that you can concentrate on riding your bike.
In an interesting project French designer Philippe Starck got together with Intersection Magazine to build a soapbox car. The car comes without engine, without steering and without brakes and as you can imagine, looks beautiful.
Wow. Just the other day I was talking with my mom and dad about a little car I had when I was a young boy in the early 80s. It was a tiny yellow pedal powered AA car with room, of course for two. Lest we also forget the inherent fixed gear contained in this plastic shelled piece of awesome and with a fixed gear came handbrake turning, sans the hands.
I’m talking, pulling up to my boys outside the garages, round the corner from my house using the ‘sans hands handbrake’ method. Priceless. Remember too, my sh*t unlike the starck x intersection soapbox car, had steering.
My pedal powered car, great as it was though, had NOTHING on this:
Benny, long time badman skateboarder and Birmingham resident has just dropped these shirts and I am liking them, especially the white on white script logo ( not pictured ).
He’s keeping it wholesome so only small runs, no mass production and at £25 they are reasonably priced too.
Anyone interested in these fine tees can either purchase from Ideal skates in birmingham or online via Benny himself. For the latter send me a message and I’ll pass on his deets.
Nice work pal, looking forward to seeing them fleshy.
