Road bike with full aero styled Super Vitus 971 framework #M67666 finished in Mercier’s malve metallic. Shimano 600 EX group (6200), Belleri bar/stem, Ambrosio Montreal blue finished tubular rims, S.Marco Concor Supercorsa saddle and Wolber tubulars.
Beautiful bike. Great to see Shimano getting some love… And 600, too. A boss group.

Man, this is truly awesome. Not this movie per se, but the idea of what’s in it. Priceless.
So, I cracked another set of vintage pista cranks ( must be the hench ) and instead of yet again replacing like for like, in fear of a catastrophic fail I drew for a modern crankset. Enter Campagnolo Record Pista.
First appearances are a bit “Meh”. For the price of them ( even though I got a killer deal ) I was expecting a bit more. People all over the net gun for these ( anyone watch Louis Theroux t’other night? ) saying they’re the bees bits but to be honest the finish is garbage. They have painted on logos as opposed to laser etched or machined and the worst crime of all is that fact that the rear of the spider is not polished…. Like folks don’t look there. Believe me Campagnolo, we look there. I mean, you don’t see Ferraris with shabby engine bays do you?
I’v owned modern Suginos and vintage DA and, well, I think our eastern brethren make better quality stuff. Was it not for my bike being Euro and the rest of the hardware that adorns said bike being Euro I would’ve definitely gone for Dura Ace.
All that said, I’m still rather happy with my purchase and I can’t wait to slap ‘em on but in all honesty Campagnolo just lost a customer*. Not that that matters, mind you… there are still plenty of Dentists and Doctors out there.
*edit. They look totally badass on the whip. Shame on me for ever doubting the Campag.

Broke down bikes, Beaters, rat bikes, franken-bikes whatever you want to call them, I am a huge fan and this thread over at LFGSS has a bunch of great stuff. Some may make you shriek, laugh, or even vomit but the fact remains that these bikes are ridden every-single-day so a few chips and scrapes are inevitable!
I love well used track bikes so much that I am going to try and make this a regular post, so if you are the proud owner of a Lamb dressed as Mutton… send it my way!!!
Kieran Young is now out for the summer touring with Rapha and their mobile cycle club and as you can see on the video below he’s currently out in the Schwarzwald having an absolute blast. What a way to spend the summer, man!

It was pretty rad before but now, hot damn! I love these types of bikes. Where every part is selected or fabricated to be the lightest or stiffest in the goal of making the machine as fast as possible.

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Levi’s/Raleigh Pro Team bikes(as seen below!), love Levi’s and of course Raleigh is doing great things these days. So when I had the chance to swoop some of these NOS Pro Team Toques, worn by the team during the 80′s, of course I didn’t say no! Now if only someone would make a re-issue kit(hint, hint). Hopefully this Commuter Line will get Levi’s psyched on cycling again and maybe even get them in the mood to co-sponsor another pro team.

All the facets are in and a bunch of samples are made… Now I just have to abuse them and then make a final decision on colour then they will be available.
