February 17, 2010Jokes.
February 17, 2010Seriously did you hear that? “Unfair aesthetic advantage”, “erotic geometry”, “psycological doping” and it is banned unless they make the bike “less nice looking”. Are these guys for real?
Here is the bike in question, the Ritte Bosberg. It is real nice, sure it is but Erotic? Please.
If anything would be considered to have an unfair aesthetic advantage it would be this: The Lance x Trek x Damien Hirst Madone with real god-damn butterflies on it. The Bureaucracy!
Thanks Dave for the linky.

February 16, 2010Spinwell Projects. 2
February 16, 2010After the success of the Beanie Spinwell Projects will soon add another product to it’s line and another string to it’s bow with the arrival of the Spinwell printed T.
Generally not a fan of T’s with bicycles or components on I had to convey the message of this blog, brand, whatever you want to call it on a T-shirt and not wanting to blow my own trumpet I think I did a pretty good job. I just can’t wait to get the merch now!
The above photograph is merely a photoshop mock-up but as soon as I have a sample of the real deal you guys will be the first to know.
Coming very soon!
Massan show.

Hello Mr. Wilson,
My name is Joseph Halbert, and I am an intern at LIVESTRONG headquarters in Austin, Texas. We are interested in learning more about your LambStrong shirts, as they seem to have become an internet phenomenon. In particular, we are interested in their origin and purpose. Any information you can provide would be helpful and appreciated.
Hilarious and controversial, I love it.
Read more about this internet phenomenon here, here and here. For lovers and for haters of Lance this is seriously worth a read, actually probably more for haters. Not haters as in the American term of haters but more like real hatred. Gosh, enough rambling already dude, damn.
Salford Park R.I.P.
February 15, 2010Because I am entering this I thought it about time I joined some sort of real bona fide cycling club so I can get my regular ride on, plus some good experience of riding in a large pack. Anyway, looking around on the club website that has been recommended to me by several, Beacon Roads CC I came across these great photographs of them racing at Salford Park in the 1980s.
I can remember myself trying to cane it around these very banks on my illuminous green Raleigh Lizard. It is ashame because Salford park is now a 5′a’side football complex. That said I suppose it was outdoors, and concrete, and crumbling to pieces. Heck I am sure I even got a puncture on there!
Nice photographs though.

February 9, 2010Apologies for the lack of posts of late my friends. Technical difficulties at home prevented me from posting anything but anyway. I am now back in the game, so here goes.
Last Sunday I popped along to the National Cyclocross Championships in Sutton Park and here are some images of what I saw.
See more cyclocross goodness here at my flickr spot.
Detroit Pro-Am 1983.
February 2, 2010The second one has to be my fave. Like a sea of black shorts, different today, of course where riders look like super heroes in skin-suits of top to toe colour and logo emblazonment. I have nothing against sponsor’s logos or colour may I add, I myself have several jerseys in what I might call a ‘dayglo’ colour-way. My shorts however must always be black, always.
Spotted here.
And this photo gallery from the same photograper entitled “The Summer of 79″ is also must see.
I fancy this.
February 1, 2010Lessons in Winter Riding.
February 1, 2010It was a crisp morning yesterday when we headed out for our regular sunday morning geared ride.
We had done no more than ten miles when that right hander reared it’s ugly head. You see that crispness equated to an awful lot of surface frost on the roads and up until that point we had done a good job of avoiding it but me at the time being ride leader found that no matter how good you think you are at dodging the ice you are never ‘that’ good.
My body took 99% of the brunt with a smashed face, cut knees, cut shoulder, sprained wrists, one day old overshoes ruined, ripped shorts and the thing that wounded me most of all is that in the spill my favourite pieces of cycling attire were destroyed. My Stowaway and my Swift jersey. Gutted.
So I learned another lesson yesterday: Yes winter training is important but not as important as my face so next time it looks icy out there I am staying in bed.
