Hipster Shield.

by

I am Loving these pics of the early days of NYC messengers. Taken in NYC by David Perez Shadi between 87 and 90.

“We used to hang out in Washington Square Park when things were slow or after work. Most of us had shitty fixed gear bikes but they worked for up to 60 miles a day. I used to ride a Matsuri Fix. It was painted Bronze and it cost around $300. My buddy Ross rode a Colnago Fix it cost around $1200 and he wrapped it in Rubber tires but you couldnt hide the Campy C-Record Hubs and Cranks.”
