Bling track sprockets

December 5, 2008

Just in at Brick Lane Bikes down in London ( again!? ) these super sick fixed sprockets in 16t and 18t… Im so getting Gold, check out my steez when its spinning well in stealth whip!
252
Comes in anodised black, red, pink, gold, purple, blue, green, powder coat white and polished silver. £16/£18.
Unfortunately they dont do mail order so you will have to go grip one at the store but its worth it for the impact it will have on your retina seeing all those frames and endless ‘bits’. That reminds me, I really need to go cop them black champs.

Sit your ass down!

A bunch of sweet saddles just in at the Tokyo Fixed Gear pop up shop down in the big smoke. Especially feeling the white Cinelli but damn that sh*t would hurt on the daily grind, on an aluminium frame too… ouch! Am I prepared to pay that price for style? watch this space.

Cadence

December 4, 2008

Autumn/Winter 08

Now for the info!
Cadence is a creative project of artist Dustin Klein.

Most production is executed with specific & unconventional techniques that result in variants between pieces. These techniques are completed in small, detail-oriented runs.

Cadence is constantly taking steps towards increasing sustainability and lessen its impact on the environment. Through recycled materials, 100% Organic T’s, and joining 1% for the planet.

Influenced by cycling, the many perceptions of life and a insatiable desire to create.

Established in 2003, Cadence is intentionally kept as a small creative project of one person. Believing that boundless growth is not a necessary means of success.
From the road for the road.

Critical Mass

December 4, 2008

Birmingham CM takes place on the First Friday of the month.
Begins outside St Philips Cathedral ( aka Pigeon Park for Bham heads ) at 5.30pm….
now for some info for folks who dont know!

WHAT’S IS ALL ABOUT?
Critical Mass is often described as an ‘unorganised coincidence’. It happens when a lot of cyclists happen to be in the same place at the same time and decide to cycle the same way together for a while

WHAT’S THE PURPOSE?
“Everyday, all over the world, people are resisting the problem culture of the car by getting on their bikes and riding, instead of driving.

Critical Mass is a celebration of the alternatives to cars, pollution, accidents and the loss of public spaces and freedoms.

Not an organisation or group, but an idea or tactic, Critical Mass allows people to reclaim cities with their bikes, just by getting together and out-numbering the cars on the road”

WHAT HAPPENS ON A CRITICAL MASS?
Each one is different and they follow no set route, with the direction being spontaneously chosen as people cycle along. Anyone is free to join or leave the ride as it pedals along.

The ride lasts no more than a couple of hours (depending on the weather!) and usually ends in a conveniently placed pub for more drinks.

Most all, they are peaceful, safe and fun!

Christmas present for the wife perhaps?

Check it! A Classic Chanel quilted bag with a bike hanging off the back of it… No seriously this really is a Chanel Bicycle and at £6200 it is not cheap, especially being as your mrs/mom/sister/gran wont ride it, they will merely grip the bag off of it and discard the metal tubey bits… Or have it jacked.

December 3, 2008

dmop-20-anny-02
Coming on the heels of IT’s 20th anniversary, fellow Hong Kong retailer D-mop turns 20 this year as they set the tone with a number of collaborations under the theme of “If D-mop is…”. Seen here are items done in conjunction with Y-3, Mihara Yasuhiro and Bernhard Willhelm. The Y-3 project features the “Y-3 for D-mop” Y-3 Monster Nylon Track Jacket which comes complete with a Yohji Yamamoto designed plush toy created in his own likeness. Mihara Yasuhiro’s signature sneaker style is translated onto a 1 of 1 fixed gear bike, the “Mihara Yasuhiro for D-mop” Pist Bike. Showcasing his own shared philosophy with D-mop, Bernhard Willhelm creates tote bags which share the same edgy and fun styles seen on his apparel. The collection will retail exclusively at the D-mop 20th Anniversary Concept Store which will open December 4th all the way until December 30th.
